I wrote the song Victory as encouragement for a dear friend of mine who endured sexual abuse as a child and as an adult. I'm in awe of her strength and how much she's overcome, but also deeply sorrowed at how - even years after the fact - it is still a very real part of her life. I meant this song as a hug and a salute. The lyrics were inspired by our conversations and interactions, and came together very naturally. Recording the song was extremely difficult though, as I tried to capture the essence of loving compassion alongside a vicious battle. I hope the song speaks to you.
